A N T I P O L O

A quickie morning ride from Manila to Antipolo and back. Antipolo is a city located in the province of Rizal; about 25 kilometers east of Manila. It has an elevation of 156 meters and and the city is found on the slopes of Sierra Madre Mountain Range. The roads going there are cyclist-friendly but it has a lot of steep climbs that is why it is very popular among cyclists. The ride started at around 5am and the riders reached Antipolo cathedral at 8:30am. The cathedral in the city is the home of the Marian image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. The riders ate early lunch in a local eatery and refreshed before they passed by Ave Maldea's crib in Cainta, Rizal which is on the way back to Manila.

Stage 1 : Project 3RENZO

I finally got the frame for project 3Renzo from Ave Maldea. It is made of hi-tensile steel and Columbus tubings. Kiko Escora assisted me with the geometry I wanted. The frame looks aggressive and impressive as usual. It also has a standard size head tube because I want the bike to look classy. I also want to take a look on Ave Maldea's techniques on fillet brazing before I have the frame painted. The fork is also made of steel for stability and durability. It is lugged and also adjusted by Ave for tighter angle and clearance.  The wheelset that I'll be using is a pair of Shimano VIA hubs with lock ring thread laced to Araya rims. The tires are gumwall 700 x 25c for more comfort because of the bad road conditions in Manila. I also tried fitting the parts with the frame before painting so that I can see how it looks like while the frame is still raw.
